The crowd is chanting, “Bader, Bader” and they close it up right away and then separate. Jones starts a flying knee checks it, then takes Bader down. Jones in side control, then changes to north-south. His left arm is under Bader’s neck, and he’s going for a north-south choke. Bader is stuck, just trying to survive but makes a little space. Jones jumps to side control and Bader gets to the cage with his feet up on it. Then back up to their feet, good job Bader! Now the circle in the middle, and Jones throws a high leg kick. They sprawl and Jones goes to side control and does some ground and pound. Bader’s left leg gets free and Bader jumps up but goes right back down and Jones had a kamora but lost it. Jones lands some of his lethal elbows. Bader has a good grip on Jones’ left hand and the round ends. Jones definitely won that round!

All the single ladies: Throw yourselves a party this Valentine’s Day

Stores have been jamming Valentine’s Day down our throats for at least a month now. There’s no other holiday in existence that can make so many otherwise intelligent, independent women feel so bad about themselves just because they don’t have a significant other. It doesn’t help that as we get older, more and more of our friends start to settle down. Valentine’s Day can take a real shot at your self-worth if you let it, dictating that someone should want to be with you every Feb. 14.

We all know it just doesn’t work that way. At some point, and in my case repeatedly, you’re going to be single on Valentine’s Day — and that’s okay!

Being single does not make you unloved: Your family and friends love you. I hear your objection of, “That’s not the point!” But love is love, and why shouldn’t it be celebrated in whatever form it comes in? We all remember that moment on the ultimate single gal’s show, “Sex and the City,” when Mr. Big tells Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha, “You three know (Carrie) better than anyone. You’re the loves of her life and a guy’s just lucky to come in fourth.” Having awesome friends is just as important as having a kick-ass significant other. So instead of throwing yourself a pity party, I suggest you gather your single girlfriends and throw a girls’ night bash free from the overcrowded restaurants with clichéd pre fixe menus and so much red and pink it looks like Cupid threw up in there.

Strawberries – Recipe Chocolate Covered

Ingredients:

* 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
* 3 ounces white chocolate, chopped
* 1 pound strawberries with stems (about 20), washed and dried very well

Directions:

Put the semisweet and white chocolates into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. (Alternatively, melt the chocolates in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.)

Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the dark chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Dip a fork in the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries.

Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

In an op-ed that appeared in today’s NY Daily News, writer Ross Rosenfeld said it is time to get rid of Black History Month. Rosenfeld claims that Black History Month does more to hurt race relations, than improve them.

He reasoned that instead of teaching children to acknowledge people by their color, we have to teach them not to focus on that; and in the words of Martin Luther King Jr, focus on “The content of their character.”

I went into today with optimism as a fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Why? Because today was Hall of Fame selection day, and the Minnesota Vikings had two very worthy candidates that were up for enshrinement in Canton. Defensive end Chris Doleman was considered to be a bit of a long shot, to be sure, but he had still made the cut down to the final 15 players that were eligible.

The main reason for my optimism, however, was because I thought that today was the day that legendary wide receiver Cris Carter would finally get the call to football immortality. Carter, who still ranks third in NFL history in receptions with 1,101, fourth in receiving touchdowns with 130, and eighth in receiving yards with 13,899 despite not having played an NFL game since 2002, would surely get in this year, wouldn't he? I mean, there was nobody blocking him this year. . .in his first year of eligibility, he got passed over in favor of Art Monk, and last year was Jerry Rice's year, and no other wide receiver was going to share the stage with him. But this year, this would finally be the year that Carter would break through and get the recognition that he deserved in his first year of eligibility.

Yeah. . .not so much, no.

Star-divide

The Hall of Fame selection process had narrowed their list of modern-era players down to 15 going into today's proceedings. From there, today's voting was set to progress in stages. The first stage was to narrow their list from 15 down to 10. Following that, the list would get sliced from 10 to 5. Finally, there would be an "up or down" vote on the remaining five candidates, although with a class as strong as this year's, there would be little doubt that all five of the final individuals selected would get in.

As I watched the NFL Network stream of the selection show, I saw a man. . .whose name escapes me at the moment, stride to the podium and say, "The list of the final ten candidates for enshrinement is as follows. . ."

So, I start paying a bit more attention. . .

Lindsay Lohan's career comeback may face another legal setback this week, as Los Angeles County prosecutors reportedly will charge the actress with a felony in connection with a $2,500 necklace that disappeared from a Venice, Calif., boutique last month.

According to the report on TMZ, Shawn Chapman, Lohan's attorney, has been informed of the looming charge, which could come as early as Monday.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office disputes the report.

"I don't know where TMZ is getting their information," Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons told the Beverly Hills Courier. "We have our investigation under review and a filing decision has not been made."

Late Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department began investigating Lohan in connection with the possible theft. As part of the investigation, LAPD detectives obtained a warrant to search Lohan's Venice residence, where she's been living since she left the Betty Ford Clinic in January.

Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that surveillance video shows Lohan wearing the necklace, which disappeared after she visited the store on Jan. 22.

New Technology Hands-on With the EFUN Nextbook Next3 Tablet

Last week at CES we saw a lot of tablets and I met with a lot of tablet makers. I was fascinated by the differing philosophies among these companies. While some preferred to wait and release their tablets when Google finally released Honeycomb, others were looking to get to market faster and were just fine with sending tablets bearing Android 2.2 or even 2.1 into the world. One such company representing the second stance was EFUN, makers of the Nextbook tablets.

The Nextbook Next3, which recently arrived in our offices, resembles a lot of the Android tablets we’ve seen in the past 18 months or so since this recent slate craze began. What sets it apart is its size — 8.4-inches instead of the more popular 7 or 10-ish — but otherwise the plastic chassis and the resistive screen are all too familiar. At $299 it’s certainly less expensive than the iPads and Galaxy Tabs of the world (unsubsidized, anyway), but is it worth a look?

On the design front the Next3 is somewhat non-descript. The glossy black chassis is not plain, but instead has flecks of metallic blue that sparkle a bit in the light. It’s not something a Twilight vampire would envy, just a bit of flair to an otherwise plain design. The thing I noticed most was the lack of buttons. There are only two on the right side — up and down — and those are for turning pages in the eReader apps or paging through files or media, such as in the photo viewer. Unlike most Android devices, there’s no Home, Back, Menu or Search buttons. Instead, Home, Back and Menu are found on screen (sometimes accompanied by Search) in most apps, but they’re not always visible.

I realize that this is a trend several hardware manufacturers are going toward, and I’d like to take this moment to ask them to stop. Having physical buttons may offend some aesthetically, but they’re very useful. Especially in instances where an app stops working or the display stops responding to taps. As happened several times when using the Next3. Of course, there is always the chance that the entire system is frozen and it needs a hard reset. However, the Back or Home button would have sufficed for most of the problems I encountered.

Comic Con, Never before thousands of comic and movie fans wanted so passionately that the third time lucky. After two failed, crash site registration openings and a series of tests successfully, badges Comic-Con for sale again on February 5 for the event in pop culture, which is July 21-24. Comic-Con International, in partnership with Event Planning International Corporation (EPIC), has opened registration for the event twice in November, but stop sales as thousands of candidates for pass-holders badly overwhelmed servers EPIC prepared. Take lessons from a trial in December, the con will open registration again on Saturday, this time in collaboration with IPEC and online ticketing company TicketLeap.

During the dates November 1 and November did not record 22 site Comic-Con has about 250 hits per second, three times more than when registration opened last year, according to David Glanzer, director of the Comic -Con marketing and public relations.

Zac Efron & Teresa Palmer Hooking Up?

Zac Efron may have moved on from Vanessa Hudgens, who he hooked up with last month following their split in December.

The actor joined Teresa Palmer at a screening of her film Take Me Home Tonight on February 3.

We’re told at the film’s after-party at the L.A. restaurant Pink Taco, Palmer and Efron held hands and “seemed happy to be with each other” while they ate dinner, says an eyewitness.

But they didn’t call it a night after dinner.

The actor reportedly acted VERY single in Hollywood last night.

A witness tells E! News that Efron got awfully cozy with Australian actress Teresa Palmer at Voyeur nightclub, arriving after midnight and sitting at a VIP table where they "drank, dirty danced and made out," the site confirms.

"They all took tequila shots together. He was grabbing her butt and doing very suggestive dancing," says an onlooker. "Then they made out a couple of times standing up where they were dancing. I was surprised they were doing that in front of everyone. It was like they didn't care.

"They were there for like an hour and left together."

Palmer stars in the upcoming I Am Number Four. She's been linked romantically to Topher Grace and Russell Brand.
